Top three resume tricks that got me interview opportunity at Google , Microsoft and Amazon are:

  1. Resume should be of one page only
  2. Don’t include unnecessary information in your resume like your DOB, 10th and 12th percentage etc ❌
  3. Highlight all the key points that you want the HRs or interviewer to focus on. You can do it by making it bold, italic or changing its colour

p.s: Attaching my resume which I had when I got interview opportunity at Google and Microsoft Please comment if you want to know more regarding resume tips or any other topic Template credits to Debarghya (Deedy) Das. I don’t agree with one page resume format. I have worked in almost all the leading investment banks and my resume is of 2-3 pages and I have received interview invites. So, I don’t think resume length will hinder your job prospect until and unless you are not mentioning anything trivial in it.

19 years Ago, On April 1st 2004 ’ ! When it comes to job interviews, we all want to give answers that make us stand out. That means knowing answer to each question, including the tricky ones designed to stump you. ’ ? That’s a problem Google CEO Sundar Pichai faced in 2004, when he first interviewed at Google for the VP of product management position. In the first few rounds, the interviewers asked him ? There was just one problem: Google had just announced the email service that very same day, on April 1st. He thought it was an April Fool’s Day joke! He responded by saying he couldn’t answer the question because he hadn’t been able to use the product. “It was only in the 4th interview when someone actually showed it to him & then the 5th interviewer asked, ‘What do you think of Gmail?’ And he was able to start answering it then! 1. He displayed “intellectual humility” More often than not, telling an interviewer you don’t know the answer to something will dock off a few points! The next time you’re faced with a difficult interview question, stay calm and take a moment to think before you respond. Pichai carefully thought about the question. What could he say about something he hadn’t even seen? Gmail, at the time, was a newly launched, invite-only product, and so he concluded that it was acceptable to not know the answer. 2. He had a reason Instead of simply saying “I don’t know,” Pichai told his interviewers why he didn’t know: he wasn’t able to use the product. By doing so, he expressed curiosity, which is a trait employers always love to see in a candidate. 3. He redirected the conversation After asserting what he didn’t know, Pichai redirected the conversation to assert what he did know. Getting a glimpse of Gmail gave him a clearer understanding of the product. This allowed him to display the forthrightness and intellect that he would go on to become so famous for at Google. The takeaway is that giving an honest answer doesn’t happen in a vacuum where you score virtue points. The value of being intellectually honest is that it gives you the opportunity to show what you do know. Pichai demonstrated the best-case scenario – being well-prepared, but also managing a dynamic situation with respect and candor. Out of the millions of applications that Google receives each year, you have at least a 0.2 percent chance of getting hired. Make it count and claim your place in that 0.2 percent. #india #technology #jobinterviews #creativity #jobseekers #google #interview #strategy #share #experience #dsa #interviewpreparation #interviewquestions #interview #hiringalerts #leadership #ceo #productmanagement

Things to Keep in Mind During HR Interview!! It’s important to remember that an HR interview is a chance for the interviewer to learn about you, but it’s also an opportunity for you to learn about the company. As such, there are a few things you should keep in mind during the interview. Be respectful: Be professional and courteous to every question you encounter during the interview. During HR interviews, recruiters will try to test your attitude, including your level of flexibility, honesty, desire to continue learning, and diligence. Make sure to show your positive attitude during the interview. When answering questions, always remember not to talk for an excessively long time. Make sure you give concise and precise answers. If you don’t understand any questions during an interview, you should ask the interviewer for clarification, instead of giving the wrong answer. #jobs #india #dsa #algorithm #learning #interview #opportunity #hr #recruiters #datastructures

Review:

Resume Build is a solid option for individuals looking to create their resumes from scratch. However, users are unable to upload their existing resumes, and prices are not disclosed upfront.

Pros:

  • There are 17 templates to choose from.
  • Each section includes a set of writing tips.
  • There are articles centered on creating resumes based on the level of expertise.
  • Misspelled words are underlined.
  • Pre-written content is available for some sections.
  • Users can change their template selections before downloading and/or printing their resumes.
  • Completed resumes can be downloaded in PDF and/or MS Word format.
  • Each subscription includes a money-back guarantee.

Cons:

  • Users are unable to upload an existing resume. Instead, they are required to create these from scratch, with assistance from Resume Build.
  • Prices are only revealed once users have completed their resumes and attempt to print and/or download these.
  • Clients don’t have the option to pay for individualized expert advice.
  • The company does not offer phone or live chat support.
  • There is no accompanying cover letter builder.

Reputation:

Reviews of Resume Build are mostly negative. There are more than 90 customer reviews on Sitejabber, with an average of 2.2 out of 5 stars. The same trend can be observed on ProductReview.com.au.

While Resume Build has a 4.0 out of 5-star rating on Trustpilot, closer inspection of the data revealed that 24% of the more than 350 reviewers gave the company a 1-star rating. In each instance, customers cited misleading and/or erroneous charges as the primary concern. These criticisms are commonly leveled at other resume builders, too.

Resume Build vs. Resume Genius:

Both Resume Build and Resume Genius charge users to download resumes. Resume Build’s pricing starts at $1.45 for the 14-day trial while Resume Genius charges users $2.95 for the 14-day trial. Resume Genius offers one-on-one expert advice, and access to a cover letter builder, as well as phone and live chat support, which Resume Build does not.

Resume Build vs. Zety:

Zety’s pricing starts at $2.70 for a 14-day trial while Resume Build charges $1.45 for the 14-day trial. Zety allows users to upload their existing resumes, which Resume Build does not. Other perks include a cover letter builder and the ability to download documents in TXT format, which Resume Builder lacks. Overall, Zety is our preferred option.

Resume Build vs. ResumeHelp:

ResumeHelp offers more templates than its competitor. Users can also upload an existing resume and download their completed documents in TXT or HTML format, which Resume Build does not offer. Moreover, ResumeHelp has a cover letter builder, which its competitor lacks. ResumeHelp’s pricing starts at $2.90 for the 14-day trial compared to $1.45.

Screwed by fine print and terrible service

I created a resume under the impression I would be able to use it free. like many other options out there. After I was finished I had to pay 1.95 to download it. Ok not so bad. until a week later I was charged 59 by the sneaky website with tiny and unclear terms. No customer service number and emailed multiple times over 2 weeks, when I finally got a response it was to tell me I was not getting my money back.

3y ago · Verified

SCAM company! Worst customer service

I would give this a zero star if I could. I was in a hurry to get a resume template and saw that they sell theirs for less than $2 (1 week access). I paid for that, but didn’t realize that by doing so I was actually agreeing to be charged $59 for a 12 week access after the 1st 7 days ended. This is total bull as only a very small percentage of people would need a 3 month access to a resume builder. Furthermore, the info about the autocharge wasn’t clearly visible to the buyer (why do they even have that)? If you are going to autocharge customer

. Read more s, you should make that info really easy to see if you are a reputable company. I asked them for a refund after my husband informed me that they autocharged him $59 so I contacted them right away but they refused to give my refund claiming that I didn’t cancel before the 7 day period ended. It hasn’t even been a week since the 7 day access I purchased ended and yet they don’t want to return my money. If they must charge me for the extra days then by all means, charge me another $2 but why do they have to keep our hard earned $59 for something I won’t use and need? Don’t trust this company they are a scam, if they’re not they wouldn’t have to resort to such tactics just to earn. Their tools aren’t even very useful. The fonts don’t work well on ms word and the pdf copy of the resume is very blurry.

Resumebuild.com Do not use if you want to update your resume frequently and if you need a word version

resumebuild.com is such a scam, they will make you pay and when you download the resume it’s not in the same format, it looks really bad, not in the same format and there’s no way you can fix it; the CV is missing the icons it showed up with on the website and seems like the document size is too big so every update you make takes like 4-7 seconds to apply to the document!!

When you contact their technical support they reply back saying that it’s working fine on their side!! Which sounds likes a silly excuse IT folks use when they cannot reproduce a bug!! What about my side, how do I get it to work there!!
They tell you to download it only in pdf even though there’s an option for word!

Crappiest of the Crappiest Companies.

Charged 12 week subscription within the trial period. Really crap service.. when asked for the sign up and subscription cancellation times the support person replied with a very rude email that the decision is final!! This is ludicrous!!

BEWARE! resumebuild.com profits on billing your card with- NO pro rata billing, NO bill adjustment, NO complaints area!

I paid $83 AUD monthly fee for 2 days (09/04/10- 10/04/19) that I forgetfully stayed ‘subscribed’ to resumebuild.com. Unfortunately that’s hefty the price I have to pay (but will spread my word for this unjust treatment) for not ‘cancelling’ within a 1 week paid trial.

I didn’t even USE this website for the 2 days (09/04, 10/04/19) that I got charged $83.00 and I was refused any refund, adjustments or pro rata billing by resumebuild.com.

This is how I got robbed by resumebuild.com :

1. I was NOT sent an email with Reminder, or option to Cancel nearing the conclusion of the 1 week paid trial.

2. I was NOT advised of Start Date of $83.00 monthly subscription.

. Read more 3. I was NOT advised in any form (email, writing, via their website) when $83 was taken out of my account. No invoices. 4. Very sneaky. this information was also not available for me to view on resumebuild.com in the form of: – Reminder on the website eg notification when I log in (eg: your 1 week trial ends on 08/04/2019 and you will be charged from . have been charged on . and how much) – Nor is this information available if you look for it under My Account. Absolutely NOTHING, no dates, no information, no options, just misleading RUBBISH. 5. I spoke to few reps from resumebuild.com via email, and ended with (Nicholas Cohen) who told me the date I joined and date I canceled (after I requested this) as this information could not be found on their website at all. But he didn’t even apologise or explain how their website offered little or no information for the end user, he just rejected my request for any refund and told me they offered NO BILLING ADJUSTMENT for the 2 days I got charged $83 AUD (for not even visiting their website). 6. The way I was treated and the way things got handled, is obvious this website is designed to profit from you not making an informed decision. They offer NO REMINDERS, EMAILS, or DATES, NOTIFICATIONS, INVOICES, via writing or on their website, or under the my account that you are about be charged, you will be charged or that you have been charged. I paid in total excess of $90 AUD for using this website within a 1 week trial. I was not offered any CUSTOMER SERVICE, PRO RATA BILLING, BILLING ADJUSTMENT, UNDERSTANDING or REFUND. resumebuild.com took $83 out of my account and I was just expected to go away. To them it is okay to take money from people even when they haven’t offered any goods or services, while they keep you in the dark to prevent you from making an informed decision, and profit from taking your money from your bank account monthly. Can you just imagine if this (auto deducting without email notification, invoices) went for months?! This website with its lack of customer service is a seriously a bad design, misleading money eating machine waiting to suck you dry and I warn all to BEWARE.

What Are Resume Builders?

Online resume builders, commonly referred to as resume makers are software programs used to design and create resumes.

They are fast, easy, and affordable solutions for individuals who want to write their own resumes.

If you decide to write your own resume, you absolutely must use an online resume builder. This option is 100x better than trying to use a Word Doc to create a resume and it will only cost you a few dollars.

Online resume builders provide beautifully designed resume templates that take the guesswork out of resume formatting.

Just be careful. Many online resume builders will appear to be free. You will spend an hour crafting a resume that you love. And then once you go to “download”, they will require you to pay.

How We Choose Winners

Each of the resume builders below was reviewed by a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) taking into consideration the following:

The cost of the service compared to other online resume builders.

How many template options are provided and the customization flexibility.

The design, style, and overall look of the resume templates.

Guarantees, ease of use, and reviews.

This list was hand-curated to serve all industries, professions, and career levels. Whether you are in finance, sales, HR, engineering, or any other role, these companies will provide excellent LinkedIn profiles.

Resume build Alternative: Why go with hipCV?

Frustrated with the shady trial pricing? Try HipCV with better features and honest pricing.

Shows one of the hipCV resume templates

Used by people to get hired at the best companies

Resume Build

Resume Build is a good alternative for people who want to construct their resumes from the beginning. The application provides a good selection of templates, writing assistance, and some pre-written material. Although, pricing is not upfront. There are 17 different templates, and every segment contains a series of writing hints. There are tips about creating resumes depending on your degree of competence, and it highlights spelling mistakes. Before saving or printing your resumes, customers can modify their design options. Prices are only visible when customers finish their resumes and proceed to download them. There is no cover letter builder to go with your CV.

HipCV

HipCV provides a professional-looking resume template and pre-written sentences to help you make a great first impact. The application has a free account to construct and share your CV online. You may apply immediately by downloading the resume in PDF format or by emailing it. You can also receive a link to your CV posted on the website and publish it on social platforms. Also, HipCV resume builder records the number of visitors to your resume to know how many employers are looking at your CV, just like how Google Analytics works.

Still deciding? Perhaps these FAQs can help!

We hope these resolve the doubts you have while comparing Resume build and hipCV if you’re still on the fence.

Q1. What is the cost of a Resume Build software?

The 7-Day complete membership package from Resume Build is $1.95. Following that, the subscription will automatically renew at a charge of $59.00 every 12 weeks. The annual cost of the Monthly subscription package is $95.40.
