Snappers Win Game 3
Down two games to none, the Snappers offense figured it was time to get going. They scored three times in the first inning, four times in the second inning and once in the third inning. That was it for the scoring. Fortunately it was enough to hold onto an 8-5 win.
All nine Snappers starters had at least one hit. The only hitter in the lineup that did not have an RBI was Joe Benson, but he was 2-4 with a double and two runs scored. Steve Singleton went 2-4. Danny Santiesteban went 2-4 with a stolen base. Rene Tosoni and Danny Berg each had a double. Garrett Olson hit another home run.
There was a lineup change for this game that appears to have helped. Garrett Olson moved from third base to shortstop, taking the spot of Chris Cates. Deibinson Romero stayed in the lineup at 3B and batted third. With this lineup, the three guys called up from Elizabethton were all batting in the top six in the lineup. Of course, Chris Parmelee and Joe Benson were also in the top four in the lineup... and they're younger than the other three too. This is a young and very talented team!
Cole DeVries struggled with the run support. He gave up five runs on seven hits and four walks in just 4.1 innings. Danny Vais came in and threw 2.2 shutout innings. Danny Leatherman and Anthony Slama both pitched a scoreless inning.
Game Four will be tonight in Beloit. The Snappers will send Matt Fox to the mound.
