Fantasy Football Draft #2

Good Morning!

Well, as I mentioned yesterday, it was a long weekend with a lot of driving. Then a full day of work yesterday, followed by a fantasy football draft that lasted entirely too long. I didn't even get to watch Brad Radke's mastery over the Baltimore Orioles that resulted in yet another no-decision for the right-hander. If not for the 9th inning, 2 out, LONG home run off the bat of Michael Cuddyer, the Twins could have been looking at extra innings! Now it will just be interesting to see if the Twins choose to retaliate for Augie Ojeda’s near decapitation on the next pitch! What a great game to have watched, but like I said, I missed it! Joe Nathan was pretty dominant in his inning to record the Save. (be sure to check out all of the Twins blogs on the left for some great incite!)

Anyway, the draft got done late, and I was again so tired, so I just lounged before going to be early. Today, I will just post the results of yesterday's fantasy football draft. Tomorrow will be a big day for the site. We will post our first Football Picks of the season. I have lined up a very impressive list of people to pick the games with me, so be sure to check back for that.

But again, I apologize for not writing much today. Thank you again for continuing to stop by the site. And without further ado, the results of my second fantasy football draft:

This is a 12-team, head-to-head league. We draft 15 rounds, in a serpentine order. We draft 2 QB, 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 K, 2 DEF, and play 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, K, DEF each week. Points are awarded for every 10 yards rushing or receiving, 25 yards passing. Touchdowns are 6 points each (4 points for TD passes).

Round 1
- Ladanian Tomlinson - RB - San Diego Chargers
- Priest Holmes - RB - Kansas City Chiefs
(Seth’s thoughts: Alright, so I started to cry when I didn’t LT. But what do you do? I still feel that I have a strong pick here with Priest)
- Ahman Green - RB - Green Bay Packers
- Shaun Alexander - RB - Seattle Seahawks
- Deuce McAllister - RB - New Orleans Saints
- Clinton Portis - RB - Washington Redskins
- Edgerin James - RB - Indianapolis Colts
- Randy Moss - WR - Minnesota Vikings
- Jamal Lewis - RB - Baltimore Ravens
- Dominik Davis - RB - Houston Texans
- Daunte Culpepper - QB - Minnesota Vikings
- Marshall Faulk - RB - St. Louis Rams

Round 2
- Torry Holt - WR - St. Louis Rams
- Rudi Johnson - RB - Cincinnati Bengals
- Corey Dillon - RB - New England Patriots
- Peyton Manning - QB - Indianapolis Colts
- Marvin Harrison - WR - Indianapolis Colts
- Terell Owens - WR - Philadelphia Eagles
- Stephen Davis - RB - Carolina Panthers
- Fred Taylor - RB - Jacksonville Jaguars
- Kevan Barlow - RB - San Fransisco 49ers
- Thomas Jones - RB - Chicago Bears
- Brian Westbrook - RB - Philadelphia Eagles

(Seth's Thoughts: Wanted another RB since the three WR I would consider at this point were gone. I figured Westbrook should get lots of playing time and can run and catch. They don't have other options really.)
- Chris Brown - RB - Tennessee Titans

Round 3
- Chad Johnson - WR - Cincinnati Bengals
- Hines Ward - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers

(Seth's Thoughts: Really I just went with Ward's consistency over a couple of other WR, all of which were selected in the next four picks)
- Santana Moss - WR - New York Jets
- Joe Horn - WR - New Orleans Saints
- Michael Vick - QB - Atlanta Falcons
- Derrick Mason - WR - Tennessee Titans
- Matt Hasselbeck - QB - Seattle Seahawks
- Quentin Griffin - RB - Denver Broncos
- Tiki Barber - RB - New York Giants
- Donovan McNabb - QB - Philadelphia Eagles
- Travis Henry - RB - Buffalo Bills
- Michael Bennett - RB - Minnesota Vikings

Round 4
- Curtis Martin - RB - New York Jets
- Darrell Jackson - WR - Seattle Seahawks
- Tony Gonzalez - TE - Kansas City Chiefs
- Eric Moulds - WR - Buffalo Bills
- Lee Suggs - RB - Cleveland Browns
- Koren Robinson - WR - Seattle Seahawks
- Kevin Jones - RB - Detroit Lions
- Javon Walker - WR - Green Bay Packers
- Andre Johnson - WR - Houston Texans
- Lavereous Coles - WR - Washington Redskins
- Steve Smith - WR - Carolina Panthers

(Seth's Thoughts: No one else stood out here. Smith could finally have a bust-out season after last year!)
- Jimmy Smith - WR - Jacksonville Jaguars

Round 5
- Reggie Wayne - WR - Indianapolis Colts
- Marc Bulgar - QB - St. Louis Rams

(Seth's Thoughts: I got him in my other league too. I guess I'm banking that the Rams will continue to be the greatest show on turf!)
- Rod Smith - QB - Denver Broncos
- Jerry Porter - WR - Oakland Raiders
- Chris Chambers - WR - Miami Dolphins
- Charles Rogers - WR - Detroit Lions
- Donte Stallworth - WR - New Orleans Saints
- Steve McNair - QB - Tennessee Titans
- Julius Jones - RB - Dallas Cowboys
- Peerless Price - WR - Atlanta Falcons
- Amani Toomer - WR - New York Giants
- Aaron Brooks - QB - New Orleans Saints

Round 6
- Plaxico Burress - WR - Pittsburgh Steelers
- Isaac Bruce - WR - St. Louis Rams
- Deion Branch - WR - New England Patriots
- Ashlie Lelie - WR - Denver Broncos
- Brandon Lloyd - WR - San Francisco 49ers
- TJ Duckett - RB - Atlanta Falcons
- Brett Favre - QB - Green Bay Packers
- Charlie Garner - RB - Tampa Bay Bucs
- Duce Staley - RB - Pittsburgh Steelers
- Trent Green - QB - Kansas City Chiefs
- Larry Fitzgerald - WR - Arizona Cardinals

(Seth's Thoughts: You know how I feel about prospects in baseball... same thing in Football. Fitzgerald, as long as he's healthy, should get a lot of catches!)
- Chad Pennington - QB - New York Jets

Round 7
- Warrick Dunn - RB - Atlanta Falcons
- Ron Dayne - RB - New York Giants

(Seth's Thoughts: Another guy I got in both leagues. I'm happy to get him here! Needed a third RB for at least the bye weeks, and I really do believe that with the lost weight, Dayne should have a big year.)
- Keyshawn Johnson - WR - Dallas Cowboys
- Brad Johnson - QB - Tampa Bay Bucs
- Justin McCariens - WR - New York Jets
- Willis McGahee - RB - Buffalo Bills
- Joey Galloway - WR - Tampa Bay Bucs
- Baltimore Defense
- Deshawn Foster - RB - Carolina Panthers
- Eddie George - RB - Dallas Cowboys
- Mike Vanderjagt - K - Indianapolis Colts
- Quincy Morgan - WR - Cleveland Browns

Round 8
- Rod Gardner - WR - Washington Redskins
- Tyrone Wheatley - RB - Oakland Raiders
- Terry Glenn - WR - Dallas Cowboys
- Marty Booker - WR - Miami Dolphins
- Sammy Morris - RB - Miami Dolphins
- Moe Williams - RB - Minnesota Vikings
- Keenan McCardell - WR - Tampa Bay Bucs
- Onterrio Smith - RB - Minnesota Vikings
- Eddie Kennison - WR - Kansas City Chiefs
- Emmitt Smith - RB - Arizona Cardinals
- Drew Bennett - WR - Tennessee Titans

(Seth's Thoughts: I hate getting kickers and defenses this early, so I went with Bennett because he seems to do well with McNair. With McCareins out in New York, Bennett and Mason could both get more catches.)
- Travis Minor - RB - Miami Dolphins

Round 9
- Jeff Wilkens - K - St. Louis Rams
- Roy Williams - WR - Detroit Lions

(Seth's Thoughts: 2 rookie WRs, huh? Probably not at all smart, but these two were the #2 and #3 overall picks in the draft!)
- Matt Stover - K - Baltimore Ravens
- Josh Brown - K - Seattle Seahawks
- Jason Elam - K - Denver Broncos
- Mushin Muhammad - WR - Carolina Panthers
- Tatum Bell - RB - Denver Broncos
- Jerome Bettis - RB - Pittsburgh Steelers
- Andre Davis - WR - Cleveland Browns
- Ryan Longwell - K - Green Bay Packers
- Jerry Rice - WR - Oakland Raiders
- David Akers - K - Philadelphia Eagles

Round 10
- David Givens - WR - New England Patriots
- Justin Fargas - RB - Oakland Raiders
- Anthony Thomas - RB - Chicago Bears
- Jay Feely - K - Atlanta Falcons
- Donald Driver - WR - Green Bay Packers
- Adam Vinatieri - K - New England Patriots
- John Kasay - K - Carolina Panthers
- Jeff Garcia - QB - Cleveland Browns
- Todd Heap - TE - Baltimore Ravens
- Greg Jones - RB - Jacksonville Jaguars
- Steve Jackson - RB - St. Louis Rams

(Seth's Thoughts: OK, another rookie, but we all know that Marshall Faulk will miss a couple games at some point this year, so grabbing his backup isn't a bad thing!)
- Robert Ferguson - WR - Green Bay Packers

Round 11
- New England Defense
- John Carney - K - New Orleans Saints

(Seth's Thoughts: New Orleans is very inconsistent, but they sometimes can score a lot of points!)
- Tom Brady - QB - New England Patriots
- Joey Harrington - QB - Detroit Lions
- Ike Hilliard - WR - New York Giants
- David Carr - QB - Houston Texans
- Kansas City Defense
- Morton Anderson - K - Minnesota Vikings
- Jake Plummer - QB - Denver Broncos
- Anquan Boldin - WR - Arizona Cardinals
- Carolina Defense
- Drew Bledsoe - QB - Buffalo Bills

Round 12
- St. Louis Defense
- Jake Delhomme - QB - Carolina Panters
- Tampa Bay Defense
- Minnesota Defense
- Kellen Winslow Jr. - TE - Cincinnati Bengals
- Tommy Maddox - QB - Pittsburgh Steelers
- Tyrone Calico - WR - Tennessee Titans
- Philadelphia Defense
- Michael Pittman - RB - Tampa Bay Bucs
- Jeff Reed - K - Pittsburgh Steelers
- Rich Gannon - QB - Oakland Raiders

(Seth's Thoughts: Grabbed him in my other league too. Could be a huge steal. Could lose his job to Kerry Collins.)
- Michael Clayton - WR - Tampa Bay Bucs

Round 13
- Joe Nedney - K - Tennessee Titans
- Tennessee Defense

(Seth's Thoughts: Needed a defense. That's really it.)
- Reggie Williams - WR - Jacksonville Jaguars
- Dallas Defense
- Dennis Northcutt - WR - Cleveland Browns
- Shayne Graham - K - Cincinnati Bengals
- Kelly Campbell - WR - Minnesota Vikings
- Byron Leftwich - QB - Jacksonville Jaguars
- Nate Burleson - WR - Minnesota Vikings
- Josh McCown - QB - Arizona Cardinals
- Peter Warrick - WR - Cincinnati Bengals
- Mike Alstott - RB - Tampa Bay Bucs

Round 14
- Martin Gramatica - K - Tampa Bay Bucs
- John Hall - K - Washington Redskins
- Jason Hanson - K - Detroit Lions
- Green Bay Defense
- Doug Brien - K - New York Jets
- Seattle Defense
- Buffalo Defense
- Pittsburgh Defense
- Lawrence Tynes - K - Kansas City Chiefs
- Atlanta Defense
- Cincinnati Defense

(Seth's Thoughts: Needed a kicker and was ready to take Tynes, but he went right before me. SO, thought I'd take a chance on the Bengals D continuing to improve.)
- Mark Brunell - QB - Washington Redskins

Round 15
- Jacksonville Defense
- Olindo Mare - K - Miami Dolphins

(Seth's Thoughts: Needed a backup kicker. Who knows if the Dolphins will score? Maybe they'll just kick field goals!)
- Miami Defense
- New Orleans Defense
- Sebastian Janikowski - K - Oakland Raiders
- Indianapolis Defense
- Kris Brown - K - Houston Texans
- Denver Defense
- Paul Edinger - K - Chicago Bears
- Chicago Defense
- New York Giants Defense
- Washington Defense

And that's it. Again, I'm happy with this team. I don't know what that means, but for now, I'd rather be happy than, well, not happy!
