FT MYERS MEMOS
Sunday
- Game 1 –
Miracle
1, Jupiter 0
– Oswaldo Sosa was better again in this game. He threw five shutout
innings and gave up just one hit. He still walked three, something he needs to
work on, and struck out two. Carlos Gutierrez made his first pro
appearance and struck out two in a scoreless inning. Blair Erickson
improved to 3-0 with an inning in which he struck out the side. The Miracle
managed just three hits. In fact, the game winning run didn't even involve a
hit. Edward Ovalle was hit by a pitch. Juan Portes sacrificed him
to second base. Ovalle stole third base and scored the game's lone run when the
throw went into left field. Yangervis Solarte went 1-1 with a walk.
Adam Everett started at SS. He led off and went 0-3 with a strikeout, a pop
out to second base and a pop out to shortstop. The first batter of the game
grounded out to him, but that was the only play he had to make in the game.
Sunday - Game 2 – Miracle 0, Jupiter 8 – Matt Fox started and went six strong innings. He gave up two runs on seven hits. He walked none and struck out five. Then Spencer Steedley came in and it didn't go so well. He faced six batters, four of them got hits and two walked. All six scored, and he did not record an out. Jose Lugo came in and didn't help.
