ROCHESTER REPORT
Monday – Rochester 8, Louisville 5 – When the Red Wings really needed him, Garrett Jones has come up big for them. In this game, he went 3-4 with his 20th double and three RBI. May not seem like much, but his average is up to .245! Alejandro Machado went 2-4 with a double. Denard Span went 2-5. Trevor Plouffe had a triple and two RBI. Kevin Mulvey started and gave up five runs (4 earned) on seven hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out five. Mariano Gomez then threw two scoreless relief innings. Casey Daigle walked one and struck out one and for it, he gets the win. Tim Lahey and Bobby Korecky each threw a scoreless inning. It marked Korecky's ninth save.

 

NEW BRITAIN NEWS
Monday – New Britain 2, New Hampshire 4Kyle Aselton started this one and gave up four runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings. He did strikeout seven. Frank Mata came in and gave up two hits but no runs in his inning. Armando Gabino struck out two in his inning. Rob Delaney pitched two shutout innings. It didn't matter much because the Rockcat bats were pretty quiet. They managed just five hits and four walks in the game. Toby Gardenhire and Drew Butera were the only two players with one of each.

 

FT MYERS MEMOS
Monday Miracle, Palm Beach – Game postponed by rain.

 

BELOIT BITS
Monday – Beloit 8, Clinton 5 Chris Parmelee had another really good game. In this one, he went 3-5 with his 14th home run and three RBI. Joe Benson went 3-5 with his 15th and 16th doubles. Both contributed to a five run eighth inning. Michael Tarsi started and gave up five runs on ten hits and a walk in six innings. Loek Van Mil gets the win as he threw 2.2 scoreless innings. Chris Anderson came in and got the final out to record his first pro save.

 

ELIZABETHTON EXTRAS
Monday – E-Twins 9, Bluefield 5 Brad Tippett improved to 2-0 with an adequate performance. In five innings, he gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out six. Thomas Wright then gave up a run on two hits and two walks in three innings. Mark Hamburger gave up a run on three hits (and struck out two) in his relief inning. Rene Leveret went 3-5 with two RBI. Jon Waltenbury went 2-4 with a walk and his fourth double. Danny Rams was 2-5 with his second double, second home run and three RBI. Angel Morales went 2-5 with his second homer and two RBI. Nick Papasan went 2-5, and James Beresford went 2-4.
