Manship Promoted to Rochester
One night after Danny Valencia was promoted to AAA
Rochester (where he went 3-4 with a double in his debut),
another top Twins prospect was promoted to the Red Wings. On this night,
starter Jeff Manship
was told by his manager, Tom Nieto,
that he was being promoted to AAA.
The 24 year old Manship is 6-4 with a 4.28 ERA on the season. However, in
his last five starts, he has thrown 35 innings and has given up just 25 hits
and seven walks. He is 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA in those games. Like Valencia, Manship was promoted to New Britain about this time one
year ago. He is ready and excited for this opportunity. Is he taking Bobby
Keppel’s spot in the Red Wings rotation? We shall see.
