Tuesday Game Notes

Hey everyone... quick Game Notes posting for now. Be sure to check out several things including the performances of Jeff Manship, Danny Valencia and David Bromberg. The Twins lost to the O's. Barack FINALLY, thankfully won! The Moment of Truth was good, but kind of disappointing after seeing the previews. What else is going on? Anyway, I will be back in a few minutes, posting the SethSpeaks Top 10 Twins Prospects. I think you'll enjoy it, and I would love your comments. It'll be busy the next several days though. I need to post the SethSpeaks Minor League Hitter and Pitcher of the Month (and the four runners up). I also have to write up my Organizational Review and Draft Thoughts for Thursday. Twins Minor League Updates

Tuesday SethSpeaks Player of the Day – Danny Valencia, Ft. Myers Miracle

ROCHESTER REPORT
Tuesday – Rochester 3, Buffalo 4 – A Garrett Jones error led to three unearned runs charged to the game's loser, Kevin Mulvey. Mulvey gave up four runs (just one earned) on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out four. Julio DePaula and Mariano Gomez each threw a scoreless inning. Randy Ruiz went 2-4 with his fourth homer and two RBI. Jones went 2-3 with a walk and his 15th double. Jason Pridie hit his third homer.

 

NEW BRITAIN NEWS
Tuesday – New Britain 3, Altoona 4 Ryan Mullins fell to 5-4. In six innings, he gave up four runs (3 earned) on five hits and two walks. Armando Gabino threw two shutout innings. Toby Gardenhire went 3-3 in the game. Luke Hughes went 1-4, but he knocked in all three runs with his 13th home run.

 

FT MYERS MEMOS
Tuesday
– Ft. Myers 5, Dunedin 0Jeff Manship must be promoted. He was excellent in this game. Nine shutout innings. He gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out five, to improve to 7-2. Danny Valencia, another guy who must move up, went 3-3 with a walk and his 19th double. Whit Robbins went 2-4 with his seventh double. Juan Portes went 2-4 with his fourth homer and three RBI.

 

SURPRISE NOTE - According to Rookie Whites, Danny Vais has decided to abruptly retire. Apparently he wasn't having fun and wanted to be home with his pregnant wife. 

 

BELOIT BITS
Tuesday – Beloit 5, Quad Cities 0 - David Bromberg had another very solid start. He threw six shutout innings. He gave up three hits, walked four, and struck out eight. Steven Hirschfeld and Spencer Steedley combined for three shutout innings. Steedley recorded his fifth save. Ramon Santana has been solid this year. In this game, he went 2-4 with his fifth homer. Ozzie Lewis was 2-3 with a walk. Ben Revere went 1-3 with two walks.

 

QUICK NOTES - Seven Beloit players were named to the Midwest League All-Star team. They were Steve Singleton, Garrett Olson, Danny Lehmann, Ben Revere, David Bromberg, Spencer Steedley and Steve Hirschfeld.
