Good morning All! Still recovering here from some illness. The Twins lost another to the Indians ast night. Michael Cuddyer is starting to crush the ball! Justin Morneau is seriously The Man! I got the below letter from Twins President Dave St. Peter regarding the Twins new stadium. In it, he explains some information and encourages those of you who can to contact your House and Senate representatives to tell them you support the stadium deal.

Two great bits of news from yesterday. First, Scott "The Body" Savol has finally been eliminated from American Idol. So your Top 4 are Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, Vonzell Solomon and Anthony Federov.

The second bit of great news is that it has finally happened. Yesterday, the Twins recalled Terry Tiffee to give Ron Gardenhire another bat off the bench. The team optioned catcher Corky Miller, and he was not claimed by another team (somehow surprisingly), so he should report to AAA Rochester. That is good news only in that it allows the team to keep Rob Bowen at AAA for a full season of at bats if something were to happen to Joe Mauer or Mike Redmond.

A good day! Brad Radke is on the hill for the Twins this afternoon as they try to win one from Cleveland.

I apologize again! Hopefully everyone understands. Have a great day, and if you would like to discuss anything, or have ideas for future articles, please be sure to e-mail me.

Here is some very exciting information regarding the Twins new ballpark situation direct from Dave St. Peter, President of the Minnesota Twins:

Hi Twins Fans:

As many of you are already aware, the next 20 days represent the most important chapter in the history of the Minnesota Twins franchise - as we are on the verge of gaining approval for a new open-air ballpark in Minneapolis' Historic Warehouse District.

As I'm sure you know, yesterday the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution to build to build a 42,000 seat ballpark in downtown Minneapolis in time for the 2009 season opener. The plan includes $125 million cash commitment from the Twins and a small Hennepin County sales tax of fifteen hundredths of one percent, which amounts to only three cents on $20. Even though the plan calls for no state funding, the Minnesota Legislature must vote to simply allow the Twins and Hennepin County to move forward with the proposal. It is imperative that they vote and approve the plan this session, which ends May 23.

If you support the new ballpark plan, I would encourage you to contact your legislator and make your voice heard. To find out who your legislators are, please call Senate information at 651-296-0504 and House information at 651-296-2146, or visit the district finder website at: http://geo.commissions.leg.state.mn.us/districts/start.html

Please let them know that you are happy that Hennepin County and the Minnesota Twins have developed a plan to build a new ballpark and you want to see the ballpark bill pass through the Minnesota Legislature. Please provide your name and address, so your legislator knows you are from their district.

In addition, the Minnesota Twins could use your support in sending letters to the editor at the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press. Ballpark opponents are organizing campaigns to block the new proposal and we want to keep the momentum in our favor. Letters to the editor can be sent to opinion@startribune.com or letters@pioneerpress.com.

With your help, the Twins will remain competitive and viable in Minnesota for generations to come. Thank you for your support!

OK, it's 8:35. The Twins are down 4-2 with two on in the 5th inning and no outs. Joe Mays is still in the game and that is making me sick. OK, my illness has nothing to do with the game. I hope it's just a 24 hour flu. But I'm going to bed. I did watch American Idol and jotted down some very brief thoughts. I am hoping that by going to bed this early, I will be able to wake up in the morning early enough to post the entire website worth of new information. By the way, Justin Morneau is the man! And be sure to check out all of the other Twins blogs!

Check back later!

Thanks,

Seth

OK, it is now 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, and I am awake. What a rough night! But, I am headed to work, just two hours late (don't worry, I called in). Anyway, again, I apologize for lack of an update, but not much I could do. But I wanted to at least give a few American Idol Thoughts this morning so that when you watch the show tonight, I can look smart. The five remaining contestants each sang two songs. The first was a really old song. The second was something current. Here is how I would rank the contestants:

1 - Carrie Underwood - She sang last and I think they saved the best for last. To me, she is head and shoulders above the competition. Her current song was a country song. It is incredible how comfortable she is with those songs.

2 - Vonzell Solomon - I concur with the judges (ok, randy). Vocally, she was flawless on both songs. She doesn't do a lot on stage, but says a lot through her facial expressions. I thought she was incredible last night.

3 - Bo Bice - Sang Stand By Me first. Familiar Tune, Bo's voice/sound, and most of Constantine's votes make him a pretty sure bet to advance. The judges loved his rendition of Heaven by Los Lonely Boys, but I thought that vocally it was terrible throughout.

4 - Anthony Federov - Picked the right songs for his voice. The second was the Backstreet Boys new song Incomplete. Anthony Federov - Boy Band... just makes sense. Good song choice for 1.) his voice, and 2.) his audience.

5 - Scott Savol - Please can The Body be done! Please! He was awful again last night. Actualy, he was OK singing On Broadway. But generally bad. And, I think I know why he has lasted so long. Just check out this site.

There is so much gossip about American Idol, it's great. From Paula hooking up with contestants to all of their criminal records. What a great show, huh?

Well, I have to go. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more. Be sure to check out my Twins grades for April below. Have a great day!
