Quick Monday Notes

It's going to be short. I posted thoughts before and then throughout the Twins/Yankees game yesterday afternoon, so I am really counting that as my Monday posting as well. It was really fun to be watching the Twins again. I spent a lot of time then last night reading through and making notes and lists based on your responses to the 2008 Demographic Surveys. I have about 25 to go through yet. That means I went through about 85 last night. Thank you to everyone who participated. I will continue to take your responses to the 2008 Demographic Surveys through the end of today, however, those entries will not be eligible for the prizes.

The Game Notes from yesterday got quite long, and I don't want people to lose site of the other Contest going on, the 2008 Prospect Watch vote. Check it out here. You have until Thursday at 5 p.m. central time to send me your list of six Twins prospects you would like to see highlighted to the left of this screen. Click here for details.

Just a quick side note. Went shopping on Saturday for too long in Albertville, at the outlet mall. A couple of things stood out. Zumiez is a scary place. The clothes, the skateboards, the workers. Went into a place called RUE 21. Have you been there? OK, I'm not young, and I am a text messager, but does RUE 21 stand for "R U Even 21?" Seriously, I think I was twice as old as anyone in there. OK, at least 50% older than anyone there! Finally, maybe someone out there knows, but did Icings by Claires come out before or after How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days?

Oh, did you see that Cristian Guzman went 3-4 yesterday for the Nationals with two home runs and four RBI?

American Idol fans and fans of former AI contestants will want to check out this posting at Perez Hilton.

While watching the news last night, they talked about the upcoming Pat Neshek Twins commercial. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of it in the near future. It was kind of running in the background while the TV people discussed it. Didn't see it all, but let's just say that it looks very funny, and to many of the Twins players, likely very appropriate!

As you've seen here, Doug Mientkiewicz is playing multiple positions, trying to make the roster of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Here is a Yahoo Sports article on him. If he makes the Pirates roster, he will be teamed with former Twins minor league manager John Russell who was named the Pirates manager a few months ago.

Is anyone interested in a SethSpeaks.net/Blogger get together one of these weekends? I spent some time this weekend thinking about it and am just curious if that would ever work at a Sports Bar or something like that? If you think it would go over, let me know.

With that, feel free to use the comments below or e-mail me. Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with a new posting.
