Twins Notes
I would encourage people to
listen to last
night’s SethSpeaks.net Weekly Twins Podcast. The show began with me
rambling (incoherently?) on Twins topics for the first 20 minutes. So, if you
want my quick thoughts on the Twins offering Jarrod Washburn a contract, or why I want a 3B or a 2B who will
sign for just one year, or concerns in the bullpen and more, please listen.
Next, Bill Ferris from The Detroit Tigers Weblog
came on and we discussed what is going on with a Tigers team that has lost Edwin Jackson, Brandon Lyon, Placido Polanco, Curtis Granderson and Fernando
Rodney. It was a very interesting discussion. Finally, Jack Steal of Fanatic
Jack Talks Twins called in and we had a very good discussion. He
ranted, I threw some opinions/questions back at him, and we actually ended up
going about 10 minutes past the live scheduled time. In fact, be sure to listen
in to his Twins Talk podcast
tonight at 9:00, and I will be calling in as a guest during the show’s second
half.
Soon, we will learn if Bert Blyleven becomes a Hall of Famer,
or how short he was of the 75% necessary for induction. Should be interesting
to see what happens. I hope he makes it. He absolutely should. But it is very
important for him to get at least 70% of the vote to have a shot in future
years. As I mentioned the other day, I would vote for Blyleven, Roberto Alomar, Barry Larkin, Mark McGwire
and Tim Raines.
