Scott Boras
is amazing! The market for free agents that aren’t the top notch free agents
has been down, and yet, Boras got a terrific contract for Adrian Beltre. The Boston Red Sox will
pay him $9 million in 2010. If he proves himself healthy and very good, he can
become a free agent after the season. If he has another bad year, or gets hurt
again, he can pick up his $5 million player option for 2011.
With Beltre
now off the market, how long before the Twins announce that they have acquired Mike Lowell and $9 million? Who would
the Twins need to trade in such a deal? Or, where does Lowell end up?
