 Quick Update

2008 is in the date above. Weird, huh? It seems like just a bit ago that we were all staying up until midnight on New Years Eve, waiting for the Y2K bug to destroy us all. That was now eight years ago! Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed your New Years festivities. I was sleeping by 11:00! And I don't feel bad about that.

Anyway, just wanted to briefly update you. I am working on a couple of projects for the site so that I start doing a few decent articles again. I'm working on a couple of Q&As and some other more 'feature' articles. So, don't expect much this week, unless there is some Twins news (and subsequent reaction) to pass along. What I would like to ask you to do is take a minute and think through types of articles or stories or anything that you would like to learn more about. Maybe it is more about prospects, teams, fantasy sports, other sports, statistics, anything. Then please e-mail me those ideas and I will consider all of them and when I have some time, I will be happy to do some research.

Jose Canseco finally found someone to publish his second book which is currently going under the title "Vindicated." As I have said other times, as much grief as Jose Canseco took for writing his initial book and naming names, how many of those guys named have sued him? And, if people are saying that getting the Performance Enhancing Drugs out of baseball is a good thing, then they should not be anti-Canseco. Canseco says more names will be mentioned in this next book. I guess my question would be, why weren't they mentioned in the first book right away? I mean, he's so sure that Alex Rodriguez used, and they have had a relationship for a long time, why wouldn't he have mentioned him in that first book? Maybe Canseco deserves the recognition as the guy who saved baseball from this issue?!

But let's be a little more positive. Chris Coste's second book, Catching the Dream, is set to release in spring training. Here is a quick entry he wrote for the Phillies mlb.com site about the book. You can also go to ChrisCoste.com to learn more.
